About the Job-
The Estimator will collect and analyze all project costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate. This position is responsible for helping complete quantity take-offs, preparing cost estimates, organizing bid bonds, and communicating with sub trades to determine the financial needs of completing a project. This position also includes helping around the office with daily duties, phone calls, sub-contractor communications, and other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do-
- Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for bidding construction projects, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, and processes.
- Prepare RS Means estimates using E4Clicks.
- Estimates costs for materials, purchased and/or leased equipment, subcontracted work, production activities and requirements, and labor.
- Provides preliminary estimates for planning purposes and detailed itemized estimates based on final plans and specifications.
- Updates costs as necessary based on new information and project scope changes. Analyzes postproduction costs and uses data to inform future project estimates.
- Review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing.
- Analyzes price proposals and other data to determine price structure.
- Assesses cost effectiveness of products, projects, and services.
- Prepares cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals.
- Acts as a resource to project management during the award / start-up phase to clarify any issues regarding what was considered in the estimate including materials and methods of construction;
- Reviews budget and project profitability status and goals with supervision and project team as required.
- Conduct site inspections for tender understanding, analysis of conditions and assessment of risk and identification of activities that may or may not be shown in tender documents.
- Assembles bid-files including all development information that was utilized in preparation of the estimates.
- Assists with procurement contracts.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate contact information for suppliers, sub-contractors and clients.
- Communicates with management to evaluate contract performance.
- Helps around the office with daily duties including phone calls, subcontractor communication, organization, keeping spreadsheets updated, and other duties as assigned.
What You Bring To The Table-
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Finance or equivalent preferred.
- 2-5 years of construction experience required.
- Knowledge of industry standards and practices.
- Experience in the commercial construction industry.
- Experience in K-12 Education Construction.
- Experience in estimating CSP and or JOC projects.
- Experience in procurement.
- Experience in multiple software systems including Procore and Adobe and E4 Clicks.
